Video playing faster than audio (not typical sync problem)
Hi guys, coming over from the PS3MS boards.
I've attached a short part of a 720p encode of The Big Bang Theory (episode 1 of season 1, so no spoilers). For a reason I cannot understand the video does not play correctly, it seems to play in a weird speed (best way I can describe it). If I manually tell it to transcode it's fine, this is with remuxing. It also works perfectly on the PC.
Can anyone test the file and possibly help? Happens with all the episodes.

Thanks a lot

Re: Video playing faster than audio (not typical sync proble
Hi Audioboxer, welcome to the forum
Is there an original name for the video file, or was it released like that? It seems that they did something weird when making the file that causes it to report 9000fps, meaning it is a bug with the files. I suggest getting a better release like The.Big.Bang.Theory.S01E01.720p.BluRay.x264-SiNNERS or The.Big.Bang.Theory.S01E01.720p.HDTV.x264-CTU and hopefully they will work fine

Hi, thanks! Great work with UMS/PS3MS by the way, been using for years now.SubJunk wrote:Hi Audioboxer, welcome to the forum

It's a personal rip it seems, available on the pirate tracker (don't want to link to keep forum from any trouble). Went with it to save some space, but I may just take your advice on a better release.
No easy way to fix? I used MKVToolnix to split the file.The.Big.Bang.Theory.Season.1-5.720p.BluRay.x264

Re: Video playing faster than audio (not typical sync proble
What MediaInfo are you using?
Some older versions displayed wrong framarate (variable/constant) but I am almost sure tsMuxeR used for remuxing doesn't support variable bitrates.
I am not sure if MKVToolNix is able to change it to constant fps...
Code: Select all
Frame rate mode : Variable

Re: Video playing faster than audio (not typical sync proble
Will try to test your sample but better to post your debug.log if possible. Every restart of UMS log is rewritten so restart UMS, play affected file and send a log so correct data will be saved there.
