Code: Select all

As soon as I remove SubRip from the SupportedExternalSubtitlesFormats, the name of the file displayed changes (extension on the HT-J5500 goes from StreamingSub to External Sub) and the file simply stops playing after a few seconds.
Sadly, I don't know what you mean by extension on the HT-J5500 - that is probably something internal to the HT-J5500. It's understandable that StreamingSub is no longer displayed, but I'm wondering why it would mark that with "External Sub" if it comes from the renderer. From the renderer's point of view that file doesn't have subtitles, the subtitles are transcoded as a part of the picture by UMS. If you by extension mean something in sqare brackets ([]) after the name, it's probably something added by UMS and then it makes sense as to UMS those are external subtitles.

In any case, that should work. The reason the file stops playing after a few seconds is the thing to worry about, and I'd have to ask you to submit a new debug log while trying to play a couple of different files with this configuration. It could simply be because the server hardware is to weak to transcode on the fly, so that the buffer runs low. Transcoding requires much more CPU than streaming does.
