Ps3 DTS and DTS HD DTS MA

So I have a ps3 and a yamaha reciever, the reciever plays dts, but is a bit older so it doesn't play all the newer dts file types like DTS-HD is there a way to have it use the Encoded audio passthrough so the normal DTS will play but when it comes to the dts-hd files have it just use the ac3 format or transcode to that if need be?

I think I can help you but first I must ask you a few questions to better understand your setup.

First, you say your receiver is an older Yamaha. Can I assume your PS3 is connected to it via an optical cable to get 5.1 sound and not connected using a HDMI cable? If I am wrong about your setup can you please describe as best you can how your PS3 is setup to your receiver?

Next can you please tell me what you have selected under the "Audio Setting" in UMS. Found under the Transcoding Settings/Common Transcode Settings.
