Mark all as Played still not working with New Media folder. [logs collected]
This is with version 6, but I had the exact same issue with every version of 5 I tried. Every time I install, the New Media folder is full of everything in my library, which makes sense, but playing the "Mark all as Played" video results in an error saying the video can't be played and the folder being still being full.
Here's what I tried:
Close UMS totally.
Lauch as admin.
Connect with my PS4.
Go into the root New Media file. Play both "Mark all as Played" videos. I say both because there's two. I'm assuming one for each library flagged as included.
Go into the X folder.
Play the Mark all as Played for X.
Go into X-Files.
Play the Mark all as Played for X-Files.
Go into Season 9.
Play the Mark all as Played for Season 9.
Restart UMS through Server Settings via PS4.
Check New Media-- still full.
X-- Still full
Xfiles-- still full
season 9-- still full
Close UMS.
Restart as Admin again.
Check again.
Everything still full.
I restarted UMS in debug logging mode and I've attached the logs. From what I can tell, this looks to be the relevant section:
TRACE 2016-01-03 19:31:52.403 [New I/O worker #3] net.pms.dlna.DLNAResource File "Mark all as played" will not be streamed because it is not supported by the renderer
However, I can't imagine failing to play the video is actually the problem as it's not a video and restarting the server via the menu says the video can't be played either, but still restarts the server. But having said that, I remember back in the day, PMS would briefly play a check or an X when you did something via the option menu.

Re: Mark all as Played still not working with New Media folder. [logs collected]
Does this folder actually work for anyone? I've several people post about it not working (and be largely ignored) but never seen anyone say it works.

I've been trying to look at this and I don't believe it can work for anyone under any circumstances. I haven't succeeded in getting the code to be called at all (so literally nothing is happening), and I'm not sure why. I've created a pull request for this where I invite the others to join in since I can't seem to figure out why the code isn't triggered.
I found out why it was listed multiple times, and that's simply a bug. It was listed once for every shared folder, so if you had 2 that probably means you have 2 shared folders.
