Fast Forward/Rewind and time jump functional renderers
Fast Forward/Rewind and time jump functional renderers
Is there a list of all renderers that can fast forward/rewind and jump to a specific time during playback?
In my experience only ones that have been able to do it consistently is PS3 and to a certain extent WD TV (crashes occasionally) - other devices I have tried but failed is xbox (one and 360) and Samsung smart TV.
To me this is a key feature of any renderer and have found little on the forum on it.
The reason I am asking is that PS3 has issue with certain film content (audio turns to noise.... PS licensing issues) and WD TV tends to crash a lot - so I am looking for alternatives if any,,,
Have been a long time user and this is by far the best software for streaming local video content that is in MKV format.

Re: Fast Forward/Rewind and time jump functional renderers
My LG OLED tv seems to be able to do this. I just prefer using the PS3 rather than get my audio to my receiver via ARC.

It depends if the video is streamed or transcoded. Obviously for streamed videos FF/REW and time jump generally work on several renderers but the problem is with transcoded videos. For example PS3 or Panasonic TVs support it but PS4, Samsung TVs and others not. Or we don't know how to manage it.
