LPCM or AC3? or both?
Hey All,
I've been reading over a lot of topics about LPCM and AC3 in different forums but have not come to a clear consensus. I copy over .MKV files to my PS3 hard drive and watch them from there (disk space and bandwidth aren't an issue). My question (I hope) is pretty simple: what options in UMS need to be checked for the best possible sound when copying over a movie to the PS3? So far I have, 'Use LPCM,' 'Keep AC3,' and 'Keep DTS' all checked as I assumed that these different higher quality audio streams should stay the same. Any other UMS options that I should be looking at?
Also the output on my PS3 is set to LPCM as opposed to Bitstream. Keep it there?
I have my PS3 going to a Marantz receiver (SR5006) via HDMI and I know the receiver will play all the HD and MA audio.
Any thoughts? Thanks!
