Pausing video on Sharp Aquos TVs

Post by himenohogosha »

Hello,

I'm running UMS and streaming to my Sharp Aquos 52LE830U tv. I've noticed that some videos allow me to pause and resume, while others will just display a "Operation invalid for this media" (paraphrasing) message and not let me pause. I'm not sure how to tell which videos will allow the pausing and which don't. I'm also wondering if there is some setting I've neglected in UMS that might allow pausing for any video?

Thanks!

I also still have this issue on my sharp aquos 60 LC-60LE632U..... with every new version of UMS I have been hoping for years to see this fixed somehow.
UMS 6.1.0 is the latest but still the same.
Look to me that some codecs fails while others are ok. It can work or fails on a mp4 file. now sure which codecs work or not and not sure how or if I could recode the file or what cause this.

I even try to recode the mp4 container with handbrake using different profile x264, x265, mp2, mp4. from bad to worst quality none cause the pause, forward & rewind to work.
I also digg with "ffmeg -i" to try find out which format, try to get a clue... fail to understand where it's coming from... :?:

any idea anyone ?

thanks anyways. ;)
