External subtitle does not work on TV-32C5000
Hi,
I use this TV and it's DLNA player feature since a while. I used MediaTomb and recently switched to UMS (I can't buid mediatomb anymore).
I can't configure UMS to have external subtitles.
With MediaTomb I know that there was a trick, I had to apply a patch over the sources which added additional HTTP headers required by the TV.
So far I tried to search on the forum but I see nothing about my model and subtitle word is too wide. What I have found is the UseClosedCaption = true setting in Samsung-CD.conf but has no effect.
Added a log file with my attemp to play a movie with subtitle.
Thank you for your help in advance,
Jozsef

Re: External subtitle does not work on TV-32C5000
I see you don't have your UMS config attached to the log. Under the "Transcoding Settings" tab and then the "Subtitles settings" tab there are options. Do you have the following selected with a check mark:
Automatically load *.srt/*.sub subtitles with the same file name
Force external subtitles
With those selected external subtitles should play.

Hi,
Both options are checked.
Attaching the config file.

Sorry but the log you provided is not useful. Please follow the Forum rules written in red above and send the log in the TRACE mode.

Re: External subtitle does not work on TV-32C5000
Thanks for the log. The UseClosedCaption = true is evidently not working and what about the original in the Samsung-CD.conf? You mentioned that in the MediaTomb there is a trick to make subs working on your TV. Do you know what it is? Maybe we can implement it.
Code: Select all
SubtitleHttpHeader = CaptionInfo.sec
Re: External subtitle does not work on TV-32C5000
Hi,
Please see the the logs without the UseClosedCaption = true.
I think that this is the patch required for Mediatomb: https://sourceforge.net/p/mediatomb/patches/21/
Regards,
Jozsef
