NAS Servers
I have a Synology DS412+ diskstation that I keep all of my media on. Does anybody have any experience using UMS with one of those, or a simialr type of system? My PC runs on Windows 8, but when I login to the diskstation it operates on a Linux platform. I wasn't sure if it'd be best to install UMS on my PC or directly onto the diskstation in the Linux platform, if that's even possible. I can add packages into it, but not sure if I can download actual programs. I just got it setup about a week ago, so it's still fairly new to me on how it works. Any guidance or recommendations is appreciated. Thank you!
Re: NAS Servers
Synology DS412+ comes with additional "Media Server" package provided in Synology webpage.
So you can easily install original media server software provided by Synology
Not sure if it works though, as DS412+ doesn't have native support for DLNA compared to DS413j.
You can try though, if it works, then you don't need UMS.
