Web Based version - Some videos taken long to play or do not play at all
Hello,
I am not sure how long this has been going on for as I always use Chromecast as my Renderer, Works like a charm. However the web Based version which i rarely use takes for ever to play or does not play at all, with only certain videos. I also noticed a workaround, I click on the Resume video and the video will instantly play. In the logs I noticed the following and fails to provide the name of the video. The two culprit videos are MP4 format.
DEBUG 2016-07-18 20:40:24.842 [ffmpeg64.exe-8-Cleanup] Stopping process: ffmpeg64.exe-8
TRACE 2016-07-18 20:40:24.843 [ffmpeg64.exe-8-Cleanup] Destroying buffer
i was using Version 6.4.0, after reading related threads I downgraded to Version 6.2.2 issue persists Attached are the logs for your review.

Just to add I thought I would install subjunks test build as my issue seems to be similar to Supermanfan77 however this time the video played after a while only with a blank screen, but as you can see in my screen shot below there is movie progress, ive also attached my attempt to replicate

Re: Web Based version - Some videos taken long to play or do not play at all
The log indicates that UMS is trying to transcode an MP4 file (which isn't necessary for web). However, the transcoding process is hanging or taking longer. So UMS kills it.
The resume file contains the part that has already been transcoded successfully. Hence you can repeatedly play it.
Additionally, don't run two renderers on single IP. UMS gets confused in identifying the actual renderer and ends up transcoding unnecessarily.

Hi atamariya,
Thank you for your response, I tried following your direction below and used the Skip Trans-coding for mp4 with no luck however it may be because of your second suggestion, I'm not sure how I'm running two renderers on One IP, how do I change this ? should I be deselecting all unnecessary renderers and only selecting the renderer Id like to use ?
Kind regards,

BubbleUpnp + browser in mobile or WMP + browser in desktop are examples of running multiple renderers on single IP.
Re: Web Based version - Some videos taken long to play or do not play at all
Thanks for the clarification. So I've stopped using multiple renderers on one IP, the two culprit movies that did not play do play now after I toggled back and forth from "Flash" & "HTML5" once on each video. The wait time now on each video is about 3 to 4 seconds which is acceptable there are many other videos that are instant which is fantastic. However it would probably be a good Idea to know how you identified UMS trying to transcode my mp4's in the logs ? as far as UMS goes it ROCKS
