[Solved] Vizio M-series aspect ratio
I am having an issue with the aspect ratio on my Vizio M series TV. I stream .mkv files, but the tv displays them with a black bar on top and bottom. It shows the resolution as 1920x1080, but the actual video is cropped.
I used the search function and didnt find any help. Anyone run into this issue and find a fix?

You can add this line to your renderer configuration file:
Hoping that helped you.
You can add this line to your renderer configuration file:
Code: Select all
KeepAspectRatioTranscoding = true
Re: Vizio M-series aspect ratio
What is the actual resolution of the video file? Sometimes black bars are good things.

Re: Vizio M-series aspect ratio
After doing some more digging, I figured out that the source files are the problem. They all have the width of 1920 but most of them have a height of only about 800. Now I just need to figure out the reason why...
So it looks like the TV is doing what it should.

Re: Vizio M-series aspect ratio
If the movie has been made for cinema, then that is perfectly normal =)coreyschaff wrote:They all have the width of 1920 but most of them have a height of only about 800.
Re: Vizio M-series aspect ratio
Yeah like squadjot said that is a normal aspect ratio for movies
I'm marking this as resolved
