Re: Videos defualt to mpeg not AVC UMS 6.60 ps3
Could you provide your UMS.conf file ? as you unselect it from the ZIP...
Re: Videos defualt to mpeg not AVC UMS 6.60 ps3
Here are the new logs
Re: Videos defualt to mpeg not AVC UMS 6.60 ps3
You just need to select the "MEncoder" video engine while using the PS3 renderer and you'll get the "same" result that with the UMS 5.1.3 version, as FFmpeg became recently the default video engine.
Re: Videos defualt to mpeg not AVC UMS 6.60 ps3
Right now under 5.1.3 ffmeg is at the top of the list. I think I've already tried selecting MEncoder, and got the same results. I will reinstall 6.60 and see what I get again.Sami32 wrote:You just need to select the "MEncoder" video engine while using the PS3 renderer and you'll get the "same" result that with the UMS 5.1.3 version, as FFmpeg became recently the default video engine.

There was no change in the results, using MEncoder, its still defaulting to mpeg2. At least that is what is showing on the screen.

OK, don't worry, just add this line into your PS3 renderer configuration file:
And hopefully, everything should work as you expect
Please, don't forget to give feedback.
Code: Select all
TranscodeVideo = MPEGTS-H264-AC3

What should be the default video engine when adding the line to the config file?Sami32 wrote:OK, don't worry, just add this line into your PS3 renderer configuration file:And hopefully, everything should work as you expectCode: Select all

Re: Videos defualt to mpeg not AVC UMS 6.60 ps3
FFmpeg is a much better choice, but MEncoder should work as well.
Note: Though in the last log you didn't attach your renderer configuration file and the one before it was a Panasonic renderer and not the PS3 !
So, just leave every file attached by default to the debug ZIP, as they are all usefull and are very tiny.

That line fixes the AVC problem but seems to break subs, lol .5.1.3 played the correct video engines if I had content that required sub titles. I would just uncheck disable subtitles and the content would play with subs. Now that doesn't work.Sami32 wrote:FFmpeg is a much better choice, but MEncoder should work as well.

Older versions of UMS would mux mkv's over to the PS3 so you could get AVC on the PS3. I don't remember when it changed, but newer versions have "Use tsMuxer" off by default when it used to be on.
