Samsung UN55F8000 H265
Samsung UN55F8000 H265
I am reaching out as I initially had an issue just playing H265 files on my TV. I made some modifications to the video section of the Samsung-NotCD.conf. It now plays the files but I cant use any fastforward or rewind functions for this video type. I am attaching the conf and debug files, Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Re: Samsung UN55F8000 H265
Can you provide the MediaInfo output of one the H265 video which is not working? From the log I see that there is not any H265 video recognized.

Please see the attached. Again thanks for your assistance.

Re: Samsung UN55F8000 H265
@jmcease AFAIK, your renderer doesn't support H.265 codec, so it should be transcoded, and that's what UMS did while streamcopying the AC-3 audio stream.
UMS never worked correctly for Samsung, due to a bad DLNA implementation, so FF and FW don't work.
Could you try that build instead: (will need a CLEAN INSTALL to get fully operational)
https://we.tl/Sc9GnvHugM
That's said, you'll need a correct renderer, as the default one that you are using is one of the worst default, IMO.
I could make you one renderer later, to use with this testing build, if you wish to.

Re: Samsung UN55F8000 H265
Yes please, that would be awesome. I will load the test build and the renderer at the same time if that is ok? For some reason my TV is always detected with this renderer. Would I copy the contents of the renderer you build to this one or will it be detected with your newly built renderer ? Thanks in advance for all your help !!!
Re: Samsung UN55F8000 H265
I was actually running this build already, UMS 6.7.4-Snapshot. I decided to do an install this AM.
Re: Samsung UN55F8000 H265
@jmcease As this buid come from my own fork and change every day, you was definitively not running the same (your used build is a568ed4cb from 2017-09-02), certainly one that i posted before for an other user or issue.
That's normal, as you didn't create your own renderer yourself, or didn't forced an other Samsung renderer configuration file as explained in our Wiki and F.A.Q.
Add this new renderer into your UMS "renderers" sub folder: Feel free to fine tune it using your manual and own tests, as i just do it roughtly.

Re: Samsung UN55F8000 H265
I dropped the renderer that you created. Restarted UMS and your Renderer was used for my Samsung TV. The video is detected as vnd.dlna.mpef-tts. The video will play but I cant FF through the video. Do you want me to do another capture? Again thanks for your help .....
Upon further review. I lost FF (right arrow) functionality on all videos now. It looks like the button will do a repeat function. I have tried FF button but that was never supported and does not work either.

Re: Samsung UN55F8000 H265
Yes, log is mandatory for debugging.
Did you tried with any other media server and succeed ? Twonky, Mezzmo, Serviio
Later i could give you an other renderer to try.

Re: Samsung UN55F8000 H265
here is the debug with your renderer. I cant FF any video, but the original problematic video does play
