@Sami32
I selected "Panasonic E6" as default renderer and clicked the check-box to force this default renderer. But this seems also not to work out of the box.
The resolution seems again to be wrong (black borders on top, botton, left and right) which makes me feel that this configuration would probably also has some other problems with my TV.

Funny enought that I am currently still using the latest version from PS3MediaServer - because this works with my TV without playing around with the configuration files.
In the beginning of the year I wondered why the newer UMS has problems to detect everything properly while PMS works out of the box. At that time I decided to wait some time because I had the impression this might be a bug which will get sorted out by itself.
But since PMS is already four years old I really would like to switch over to UMS soon.

@zappie Please, post an other log while using Panasonic Viera E6 renderer, while playing and while transcoding a video, because i saw nothing into your log before, like if you hadn't played any video before posting your log...

EDIT: Nothing is solved by itself, only reports with trace log reproducing the issue can help us to solve it, or it could stay as it is for ever.

You have many issue. As you have JNA issues, try to use the official 6.7.4 stable release and do a CLEAN INSTALL.

As i saw that you are using the now obsolet and not maintened video engine instead of FFmpeg, you have failure of MPlayer own install and MEncoder, MediaInfo, it seem that no libmediainfo or libzen library is installed or at least faulty.
And try also to use FFmpeg as video engine, without options that defer it to MEncoder or tsMuxeR.

You can follow our Wiki steps:
https://github.com/UniversalMediaServer ... structions

If you still have issue, please, post a new log with the asked changes.

EDIT: It seem that you are still using channel plugin that should not be compatible anymore, so you should remove it, as it created errors.

@Sami32
Yesterdays jni issue (and for sure some other problems) came from a full /tmp file system.
Sorry for that, i have not seen that yesterday evening because everything was still running as before and nothing did complain. I have cleaned up /tmp now these errors are gone.

Meanwhile i also reviewed the link you send - and re-executed the commands to install the needed packages. The packages were already existing - except the optional DCRaw but this is now also installed. Other thing I did - I installed "java-8-openjdk" beside the version I used before and were activating it as default.
To be sure I also re-downloaded the 6.7.4 version that it is in original state.

The Channel plugin i am not using - but i guess the error in the log was also related to the full /tmp file system.

FFmpeg is activated (bold) in the GUI and i kept everything except the renderer (set to panasonic Viera E6), the folder for the input data and the port with the default values.
Disabling the fallback to mencoder in ffmpeg for problematic subtitles did also not help.

The problems with the black borders are still existing and the very little stuttering in video playback is back which i also had with the renderer file i created.

What do you mean with "obsolet and not maintened video engine"?

Edit: All DVD playback is the main problem.

@zappie No problem.
DVD streaming is done with MEncoder, a dead video engine since some years now, as FFmpeg is still not able to do that.
I don't touch to this engine, i really don't like all its limitation, but Nadahar did worked on that recently and is Linux aware, so he should be a much better adviser than me ;)

Do you get only these issues, stuttering and black borders, with DVDs ? or also while direct streaming, transcoding videos other than DVD ?

I will check at your log. Thanks.

EDIT: I see that MPlayer is having issue, could updating it to the latest version help ?
Are they all encrypted DVDs ?

@zappie It seem that you are talking ONLY about DVD black borders issue ? So MEncoder/MPlayer only is involved.
DEBUG 2017-10-17 22:02:07.543 [mplayer-3-1] net.pms.io.OutputTextConsumer ID_VIDEO_ASPECT=0.0000
DEBUG 2017-10-17 22:02:07.543 [mplayer-3-1] net.pms.io.OutputTextConsumer Movie-Aspect is 1.78:1 - prescaling to correct movie aspect.
DEBUG 2017-10-17 22:02:07.543 [mplayer-3-1] net.pms.io.OutputTextConsumer ID_VIDEO_ASPECT=1.7778
DEBUG 2017-10-17 22:02:07.543 [mplayer-3-1] net.pms.io.OutputTextConsumer VO: [null] 720x576 => 1024x576 BGR 24-bit
That explain why you have black borders and stuttering. That come from UMS no handling correctly an incorrect encoded DVD, or MEncoder incorrect analyse. The default set are wrong and ask for unecessary transcoding using more your CPU and bandwidth, color space conversion ask many of these resources.
That come from UMS code flaw, as it shouldn't do that: convert your DVDs to MPEG-4 and add all these conversions incoherences...
I suspect that it come from DVDISO not being identified as DVD.

EDIT: I opened an issue for you here. @SubJunk is the only one maintening the MEncoder UMS version; so as i really dislike this engine and related code, i prefer leaved it to someone else.

@zappie Do normal, standard DVDs display and play fine ?

Because from what you've forgotten to say, your issue seem ONLY ? related to DVDISO.

@Sami32
Currently i am running mplayer 1.2.1 (ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS). As far as i understood this version is compatible to ffmpeg 2.8.x.
Mplayer 1.3.0 would be the newest version available but can not easily be installed in Ubuntu 16.04 because I would need to compile it and for this I need some more time to get through all this (dependencies, cleanup afterwards and so on). Is there only mplayer in UMS for playing DVD videos? Or can mpv or something else be used?
All tested DVDs are not encrypted (also structure should all be fine) therefore this should not be a issue and need's to be sorted out later if needed, first the main issue need's to be resolved.
The DVDs by the way are not real iso files (just mounted DVD or copied structure) but they are shown as ISO in the UMS overview on the TV.
From these stuttering somehow there is also a audio/video sync problem.
But still i do not understand why in pms-1.90.1 version dvd playback is working fine and only in ums-6.7.x / ums-7 it's not working on the same system.

Beside DVD I have tested different video types - they are working - no black borders or squashed videos.
So i can confirm that (as far as i can say currently) only DVD format seems to have a problem while direct streaming and also while transcoding. But actually that's very important to me.
