PS4 Pro not seeing UMS but PS4 and Xbox do

Post by Copafield »

I believe the problem doesn't actually lie within UMS but either the PS4 or the PC's media streaming options.

The story goes .... I moved both the P4Pro and the Media server to this house. They were both on 192.x network range, but are now within 10. range. The PS4 and xbox that were already in this house see UMS fine, I can even see it on this laptop.

I've been into Media Streaming Options and removed all unknown renderers from all networks but I still can't get it to connect. I've tried both automatic and manual network settings on the P4Pro. Few others things I've also tried but now it's time to ask the professionals. I'm providing all this wonderful media to he house yet I'm the only one that can't watch it lol. Please and thanks.

It sounds like a network problem for me. If UMS doesn't detect it at all, there's no setting in UMS that can fix it - disabling renderers will have no effect.

Make sure that the PS4 pro is on the same subnet as the other devices and UMS. That means that the subnet mask is the same (255.255.255.0 or /24 usually), and that the first 3 numbers of the IP address is the same. Some equipment defaults to subnet mask 255.0.0.0 or /8 for 10.x.x.x addresses. They all have to be the same, so if some of your equipment use one subnet mask and the others another, you will have problems.
