What does it means for your version? It should be stated in conf file what is used as default when not defined...

Can you please make another debug.log, this time using version 2.4.2 and do the following:
Try to play it normally (the way that fails), then play it via the transcode folder with the srt option. Also please wait a few seconds between clicks on the TV since that should make the log timeline clearer.
Sorry for all the trouble but I don't have a Bravia so you are my eyes here
