[Solved] Unable to connect to server externally
I have been searching through any posts on here i could find, to no avail seeing if someone had the same issue as me and a solution to said issue. I can connect internally just fine to my media server using chrome and the internal ip:port (via the web interface button);
BUT:
whenever i use my external IP and the port i've set to "force port of the server" to, the tab blinks and says nothing happens.
BUT:
the log creates an entry about an unknown renderer, then assesses it's connection speed. it assesses possible identifying HTTP headers (one of which IS chrome and IS the same version i'm using.)
I have set my virtual server options to forward requests from that port to a static ip my mac address on said hosting PC is assigned to. I'm really at a loss how to move forward in this situation, and desperately need help
included is a log where i start the server, then use chrome open up the web interface option, close it, then again using chrome i enter my external IP:port number and try to connect that way, and it recognizes an "unknown renderer" is trying to contact it, but does nothing else and does not load the interface like it would with the internal option, in fact it does nothing at all.

Re: Unable to connect to server externally
I just realized the situation and fixed it.
The "Force port of the server" line inside of the 'Network settings (advanced)' section of the General Settings tab, refers to the Port one would be connecting through on the external, foreign connection -> router side of the affairs, and not how it's going to be routed from the router into my computer & by extension, my server. So In my router settings, i was forwarding the Port i had set it to force externally to the same numbered port internally, when in fact, it should have internally been sent to the default 9001 port on the internal port side of the situation.
hope anyone having the same issue as me sees this, and understands as well!
