Re: Transcoding for SONY Bravia VH1/KD-65XH92xx
Hey, great support to prepare and store the trace files. Worked faster as expected. Thank you.
So, renderer Kellerkind2 is the original sony bravia XD-file plus the command DLNAOrgPN = false. UMS is forced to use it.
The outcome is unchanged and streaming worked well but no transcoding as before. The log files showing all tests on my set of test files.

Re: Transcoding for SONY Bravia VH1/KD-65XH92xx
Thanks for the logs. I can see that your TV has reported that it supports these formats:
Please try this version. It should detect your TV automatically as Sony Bravia XH so you don't need to use your custom config https://www.universalmediaserver.com/up ... b3df31.exe

Re: Transcoding for SONY Bravia VH1/KD-65XH92xx
Hello SubJunk,
I installed it. First respond was not as expected because my customized renderer has been chosen. So, I forced Bravia XH and restartet the server.
With this set-up nearly all videos are running. I found just two exceptions - for test purpose I coded two files (MKV and MP4 -container) with 12 bit H256 (Handbrake option). Both can run on the PC but can not be transcoded.
My understanding is what can be displayed on the PC (so, code must be installed) should be able to be transcoded. Maybe my understanding is wrong. Mayby I have to chose VLC for transcoding. Maybe ...
So, can you give some advice about the way forward as this version seems to be a test version? Do you need more info/test from me?
Thank you very much.

Just to confirm, before we start looking at 12-bit x265 support, are you saying that transcoded videos are supported with that custom build?
Can you please try with this one? I am interested in narrowing down what might have fixed it for you https://www.universalmediaserver.com/up ... 6b6d48.exe

Re: Transcoding for SONY Bravia VH1/KD-65XH92xx
To your first question regarding ... b3df31.exe: Yes, despite 12 bit everything else is either streamed or transcoded (e.g. Theora is working)
Initial configuration was ... b3df31.exe with renderer Sony Bravia XH forced. I closed it and installed ... 6b6d48.exe. Afterwards I stopped renderer Bravia XH to be forced.
The result was just streaming. E.g MKV VP9 worked but MKV Theora failed. MP4 with MP2 failed also. No signs of tried transcoding on status screen.
From that set-up I switched to forced Bravia XH and stopped and started UMS again.
With this set-up nothing worked (neither transcoding nor streaming and no signs of tried transcoding)
I step back to .... b3df31.exe with forced Bravia XH.
Result is exactly as before with this set-up. So, transcoding and streaming is working. Just 12 bit versions fail.
If you need a specific test scenario let me know.

Ah I see a mistake I made in the last build, sorry about that. Please try https://www.universalmediaserver.com/up ... 6cc9b2.exe
I only need to know if transcoding works with that

Re: Transcoding for SONY Bravia VH1/KD-65XH92xx
Once again I installed ...6cc9b2 and left it to the software to choose a renderer (it became Kellerkind.conf). It worked in no way (no streaming, no sign of transcoding).
Afterwards I forced Sony Bravia XH.conf. Result was the same, no sign of transcoding no streaming.
For cross-check I switched back to ... b3df31.exe with forced Sony Bravia XH. Once again streaming and transcoding as described before.
So far, b3df31 is working despite 12 bit transcoding (which is not a problem but just a point which I do not understand).
Let me know if you like further tests.

Thanks for continuing to test, hopefully this one works https://www.universalmediaserver.com/up ... 3d1438.exe

Re: Transcoding for SONY Bravia VH1/KD-65XH92xx
Ok, test done with following result:
- After installation renderer Kellerkind has been choosen. MPEG files could be streamed but nothing else could be transcoded
- After forcing renderer bravia XH all files could either be streamed or be transcoded despite the mentioned 12 bit versions (in fact majority is stream but I checked specific on Theora and transcoding is working)
Therefore this version is behaving as b3df31.exe.
Do you need a more specific feedback? If so, let me know what's needed.

That's great, I think that means we have fixed transcoding to your TV. I'll try to get the changes merged in time for the next release. Thanks for all of your testing!
The next thing is transcoding 12-bit, could you please provide logs from when you tried that?
