sub titles not available

Post by Big-Kev »

I have been using UMS for some time but have always had an issue with playing files that either contain or have stand alone subtitle file.
It tells no

In the log it contains this - VSFilter / DirectVobSub was not found. This can cause problems when trying to play subtitled videos with AviSynth
This is the only error that I can see.
I have created a debug file and it is attached -[attachment=0]ums_dbg_2021-08-12-18-04.zip[/attachment
Is this my issue ?
If so how do I correct it please?
Also since the last 2 windows 10 updates, I an getting UNABLE to connect to server]
If anyone has any suggestions how to fix these issues I would greatly appreciate your input

Kevin

Further to my previous post the - connection error is from my unit player itself... after fiddling with the settings and alternating between hard wire connection and wifi connection it is working now - looks like a new unit come payday, but the subtitls issue remains

It may be that your Player does not support subtitles as I don't see anything in the renderer conf that says that any is supported.
Looks like most of your other files will be streamed so if they do have subtitles you should be able turn them on in your players options if it supports it.

The other option is to "burn in" the subtitles by transcoding.
Try playing from the #--TRANSCODE--# folder and choose the subtitle you wish to use. (if you do not see it, enable "show the #--Transcode--# folder" in the GUI on the navigation tab)

The message "VSFilter / DirectVobSub was not found. This can cause problems when trying to play subtitled videos with AviSynth" is nothing to worry about as you will probably be using FFmpeg to do the transcoding.
