Re: Latest Version and Sony Bravia KDL46W5500
Ok, this is again Linux.
This time I did install Mencoder that was missing (in windows was not the case).
So this now was as windows, no missing engines.
Still there are some handling problems.

Re: Latest Version and Sony Bravia KDL46W5500
You still have not got MediaInfo installed on Linux, but it did install on windows. You should manually install it yourself on Linux.
I don't know why it didn't install along with UMS but I think this is a Linux thing.
There is a bug in version 10.18.0 where if you restart the server it will start giving repetitive errors in the log, quitting and restarting UMS will fix it.
I am fairly sure you are stuck with MPEG2 no matter what as the TV is too old.
I altered the .conf file for it to transcode to h264 (TranscodeVideo = MPEGTS-H264-AC3) but I expect it to fail. I'm not an expert on transcoding though so maybe it will work.
If it is any help this is what the TV is reporting it can play in GetProtocolInfo
I don't know enough to fully understand this but I don't see any mention of h264. It does not show any file types other than mpeg so streaming mp4 or mkv files will not work, everything will have to be transcoded.
Sticking with your transmitter might be the only way you can get what you want on that TV. Just be very careful about what you are broadcasting if your neighbours could pick it up and I don't know about the laws are where you are from but transmitting could be illegal. But I know nothing about RF.

Re: Latest Version and Sony Bravia KDL46W5500
Thanks, yes, I have tried with the profile but it does not even play. Takes ages to load and then says cannot play.
Put back the normal and works in MPEG2, as you said it may happen.
I just need to continue with my system.
Power is low, very low, does not go that far from the house, does not get out. Already tested.
Cheers

Re: Latest Version and Sony Bravia KDL46W5500
I did have to install mediainfo on the command line and that was ok, to a point. THe GUI installer does not work as there is a library that is too new and the old one is gone...................99 cents for Linux, again.
