"no compatible source was found for this media"

Post by phossler »

I can't play MKV files using Edge or Chrome,

Windows 10 up to date

Example of the link

Code: Select all

http://10.0.0.97:9002/player/play/34114
MP4 play OK, and the MKV play in VLC and on the TV

Is there a setting I need to change?

Thanks

Edit -- Never mind - I had [Disable all transcoding] checked since I don't need it for the TVs. Unchecking it allows MKVs to play in Edge. Now I have to experiment with some of the other options

All videos will need to be transcoded to a standard format for the web player and uses a similar method to Youtube and other video sites, so if all transcoding is disabled this will no longer work.
