MKV's with Subs = Slow or No Loading

Still a newbie here, but i have found if any of my mkv's have any subtitles then that mkv will be very slow to load, or not load and cause the TV to loose connection with UMS
It might be my TV (LG 55LW6500 Smart Cinema) or is it a common prob, but either way if i remove the sub's with mkvtoolnix (mkv-merge), the movie starts very fast, and no loading errors
