[Solved] 2.62 dropping from ps3

A new issue has popped up since going from 2.6.1 to 2.6.2

After some time of non-use (guessing an hour or so) I turn on my ps3 and there's no UMS icon. I go to my PC and it says Connected. I quit UMS and then open it again and the icon instantly appears on my PS3 and I'm good again. This has happened 5 times in the last two days since I switched to 2.6.2. It works well in every other aspect except dropping off my network. I can watch something. Turn off PS3, come back later and it's gone again. I close/re-open on PC and I'm good again.

Yeah that has been a bug on the PS3 for a while now, maybe you recently updated the PS3 firmware? I forgot which version started it

No. but i did update Java at the same time as updating UMS. I'll drop that back and see what that does.

As a follow up. reverting Java didn't fix it. Going back to 2.61 fixed it. Something changed going to 2.62 for me that caused the PS3 to stop seeing UMS.

I was just going to report the same issue. Glad you already caught it.

I wasn't sure if it was a UMS update, the Java update, or if it was that latest ps3 update.
