Maybe you can first convert wtv file to h.264 format, then play it on UMS. I use Faasoft Video Converter to convert wtv file to H.264 format. Give it a try.

No need to convert if FFMPEG supports it natively. The devs will find a solution.

Maybe a simple solution might be to rename the file extension. To, say, yourfile.mp4 without actually converting it. You might want to try just one or so for testing it first.
