i also have such problem "not be parsed. It will be hidden"
when using Asian name like chinese, the movie file cannot display in using UMS 5.01.
but 5.00 is OK.
PLS FIX IT.

Hi!
Previously Java 6 version was ok, but on UMS 5.1.2 java 6 version has same problem, too.
Any 2byte characters can't be parsed and UMS hides these files.

Hi guys,
I renamed one of my videos to "38 попугаев\02. Куда идет слоненок" and tested it with the Java 6 and 7 versions of 5.1.2 and it worked both times.
I can't test on OS X though so this was only on Windows.
Edit: Have you confirmed the bug Optimus?

Hi SubJunk / OptimusPrime & Whoever working hard to improve UMS
I'm posting regarding the same issue as TS. However my file is Chinese characters mix with english characters.
For example : 兄弟情2.Brotherhood2.RMVB
Ive tried different file types, including RMVB, MKV，AVI..etc
Whenever theres characters other than English as file name / just Asian characters as well, the FILE/ FOLDER would not shows up on PS3 under Videos section
Therefore, I tried to find the old released version of UMS. Turns out, UMS 3.0Version is the latest version that still
support characters other than ENGLISH. Not sure what've changed, but if there's anything i could help to improve UMS over the next release, I hope this issue / bug/ whatever can be solve.
BTW, I'm running UMS 5.2.1 on OS X YOSEMITE 10.10.4

So do i , i have same problem, since form UMS version 5.0 Java8, can anyone fix the asia ut8 characters on mac ?
