Does UMS support "seeking in transcoded streams"?
Hi,
I have a bunch of videos in h264.mkv format that I want to transcode & stream to a DLNA client, e.g., my Panasonic BluRay player.
My 1st try was using MediaTomb DLNA player + ffmpeg script to do the transcoding.
Video & Audio are perfect -- but NO action commands (Pause, SKip, Fast Forward, etc) work at all on the Client.
In a chat in #ffmpeg, I was told that the problem is that with MediaTomb (from its FAQ),
"seeking is not possible in transcoded streams"
and THAT is the reason my controls are non-functional. Suggestion is : find a server that supports it.
So, my 1st question is: does UMS support seeking in transcoded streams? so that I might expect the video controls to work for the stream?
Jen
