[Solved] Unexplanable Dialog during start UMS
Hello,
when I start UMS, every time a Dialog appears as shown in attached Screenshot.
I’ve chosen different folders (here “Eigene Dokumente”), but nothing change.
Can You please give me a Tipp, how to avoid that?

Best regards

Re: Unexplanable Dialog during start UMS
Use the other shortcut.
When you install UMS on Windows, one shortcut called "Universal Media Server" and one called "Universal Media Server (Select Profile)" are created. The latter will open the file chooser so that you can pick the profile folder, while the former will use the default profile folder location.

That means, I have to uninstall and install UMS again?
When not, what can I do with an installed and running UMS?

Re: [Solved] Unexplanable Dialog during start UMS
Sorry, I don't understand your question. UMS should have created two different shortcuts when installed, you use the wrong one. If you have deleted the proper shortcut, you can either reinstall UMS or you can create it manually.

Sorry, I don't how to create it manually. Please van You give me the needed steps?
Re: [Solved] Unexplanable Dialog during start UMS
I can't give you the steps as it varies how you've done it or want it, but open the folder in which you have installed UMS in explorer. The folder is probably "C:\Program Files (x86)\Universal Media Server", but the exact name can vary. Inside it, there's a file called "UMS.exe". Rightclick and drag (right click and hold the mouse button while dragging) to wherever you want the shortcut, for example your desktop. When you let go of the right mouse button, a menu will appear. Select "Create shortcut" from the menu.
You can then move or copy the shortcut to wherever you want it, for example to your start menu or to "programs" on the start menu.
