i have come across a solution to get it to work on the latest release.
Download a version of PS3 media server pms-1.90.1-setup-full-x64 to extract the following file that is missing from the Universal media server installation package.
the file named: pms.jar is missing from UMS main folder, copy from the installation path of PS3 media server down to UMS folder installation path
example:
C:\Program Files (x86)\PS3 Media Server\pms.jar to UMS path.
now that the file is copied, open UMS interface and install as a service.
go to win32\service\ and open wrapper.conf file anf chagne the following settings.
wrapper.java.classpath.2=dms.jar to wrapper.java.classpath.2=pms.jar
the file is spelled wrong.
after this you can go back to Services int he OS and start the Digital Media Server. this shoudl start normally.
enjoy
