9.6.1 issues [Solved]

I'm having problems with this version, nothing will transcode or stream. It may have something to do with my PC though with all the other problems caused by faulty ram.

When trying to play anything on Movian(PS3) it just became unresponsive. My TV did eventually start playing a plain mp4 without transcoding but stopping it caused the TV to lock up.

I Went down to the next available version (9.2) and it is working again so there might definitely be something wrong there. I should have done proper logs in 9.6.1 but forgot, but did have the log open in Notepad++ looking for errors so was able to save that.

Probably unrelated but my router started to play up at the same time, the status light on the front started to cycle colours orange, green and blue. It is not connected to the phone lines so it wasn't an update. It should normally just be orange as it is offline. I reset it and its back to normal but i am wondering if corrupt data coming from UMS was the cause

Tried to find 9.5 but it's not there under previous releases, latest was 9.2.
9.4.2 was the version I updated from and just found the installer for that in the recycle bin

My system has been stable so far so I'm planning to refresh my windows install to fix any damaged caused by the bsods.

While my PC is busy installing I did some tests on my laptop and have the same result.

I tested both Movian on PS3 and my Samsung TV. I didn't have the conf for Movian on my laptop so i used the #-TRANSCODE-# folder to play both with and without transcoding for both. I did a clean install for both versions.

First I tried a file downloaded from YouTube (MP4), without transcoding then forced transcoding.
then tried a file that needed transcoding (h265)

In 9.6.1 Movian sat waiting with the spinning icon, UMS reports as stopped playing 4 secs later, no error indicated.

Forcing to transcode UMS starts but Movian waits, never recieving any data

after that tried to navigate to different directory to test the h265 file but nothing was being sent (maybe this was movian that had become confused and could no longer understand the directory)

9.5 works as expected

TV did play but there was a very long pause (over 30 secs) when stopping the video and returning to the file list where the screen is just black. v9.2 and 9.5 is the same though. Don't use the TV for streaming so not sure if this behavior is normal, might try an older version like 6.8 to compare.

Both failed to play the transcoded h365 but that may be because it was over wifi

Yes that fixed it, both the snapshot and 9.6.2 are working
