hisense 55u7qf and 4k HDR
Hello,
I would like to watch a movie in 4K HDR with UMS, but I can't, it comes out in bad quality.
I haven't touched anything in the original configuration, my TV is written in the title. I can't find any media corresponding to it so I left the default one.
if you could help me to configure ums to have the best quality possible? that would be great
My network is 1gbs wired
i5-10400F CPU
win 10 64b
16gb Ram.
Thanks in advance

Re: hisense 55u7qf and 4k HDR
There is currently no conf file to configure the supported formats for that model TV.
For some reason your log files were not in trace mode (this may be a bug if you already switched to trace mode). Could you make new logs (see the section in red above) and I'll have a go at making a new conf for you.
In the mean time you should be able to play most things by playing from the #--TRANSCODE--# folder and choose "No transcoding"
(if you do not see it, enable "show the #--Transcode--# folder" in the GUI on the navigation tab)

Hello, here is the log with your procedure.
I ran the movie (Greenland) in normal, the quality was bad but we knew it.
I launched with the transcode without transcode the quality is good, but no sound.
I thank you in advance for your help

Re: hisense 55u7qf and 4k HDR
Sorry could you try and do the logs again. It looks like UMS was already running when it started in trace mode so it was unable to use the database or ports, which has creayed a lot of errors in the log. I think this is a problem switching to trace mode on some systems and probably not related to your problem. Make sure UMS is not running then start it and do the logs.
One strange thing I saw was that your logs started in trace then changed to debug, then back to trace but there is no mention of the change in mode.
As you say the video plays well but with no audio means that the audio codec that video uses is not supported by your TV (probably DTS but that part of your log was in the wrong mode).
UMS was probably transcoding so that your TV could play it.
Transcoding 4K it takes a powerful computer to do in real time and a lot of network bandwidth so is best avoided. UMS will try and transcode at the highest possible quality allowed by your network speed (that was not in the log so don't know) so if the speed is low then the quality will suffer.
If you have an external sound bar then it is possible that it will support the codec used and you can pass though the audio using ARC.
If you cannot get the video in another format you could use something like HandBrake to manually transcode it.
