UMS for other purposes like document sharing?

I am new to UMS and am looking at it as a potential solution.

UMS seems geared toward multimedia (ie: video), but I wonder might it include support for exporting file shares, for document sharing via SMB or NFS, etc. Obviously, SMB can be configured separately -- I have used another OSS product for document and volume sharing, but I'd like to use just one if I can manage.

Thanks for your question. That wouldn't work right now, but since we are open source, you could contribute that as a code change. However we might then need to rename to "Universal Server"
