Adding Network Folders

Post by Madoka »

I've been using an older version of UMS, way pre v12. I have a networked computer that serves as a hub for a ton of external drives that my media is on. In the older versions, all my shared folders was listed in the "folders =" setting. Not all of the drives are connected all the time, and in the older versions and if a drive is not attached, the older versions would note in the log that "[Drive] does not exist. Please remove it...." and it doesn't show up, but the drive remains in the settings. So I could list all the possible networked drives and have them appear when I have them on, so that different drives would show up on different days, depending on what I wanted to watch.

With the new browser settings interface, I seem to be able to only add local drives. I manually edited the shared settings file, and then the currently attached network drives show up. But the main problem is that the new versions seem to automatically delete drives not attached, such than any drive that "does not exist" in the older versions would be deleted from the settings. This doesn't work for me as I would have to manually edit the settings file every time.

Am I missing something new, some setting I need to change? UMS 11.6.0 is the last version that seems to work the way I need it to with my setup.

Thanks. If there is another post with the solution, please kindly link it for me. I looked around but couldn't find a similar problem.
