[Solved] Win 10 will not go to Sleep...

Post by Capiray »

Hi All,

I have this issue going on at less since 14.3 that if the UMS is active my pc will go to sleep as schedule after 5 hours of no more activities.

I have tested this by closing the UMS and as schedule the pc when to sleep.

As anyone notice this issue or can reproduce this issue?

I'm adding my log, let me no if I need to change something in the configuration.

Could you re-phase that as I don't quite understand what you mean.

There is some settings to prevent sleep while UMS is running or during playback that might help. It is currently set to not sleep during playback as default.

Code: Select all

# Prevent system idle sleep
# -------------------------
# If your UMS host has a power-saving mode, use this option to prevent the
# system from hibernating or sleeping. Currently only Windows and macOS are
# supported. There are three modes:
#
# - Never: UMS doesn't interfere with system idle sleep.
# - Playback: UMS prevents the system from going to sleep while playback from
# UMS is active.
# - Running: UMS prevents the system from going to sleep while UMS is running.
#
# Default: Playback
prevent_sleep =
Has this behaviour changed?

I thought this could be set in the web settings but it is missing for some reason. It is still in the old GUI though. I'll have to mention it to the Devs.

Hi Mik's

That it, my pc will not go into sleeping mode like it use to do so, and I did not play around with the edit UMS configuration file manually The only thing is if I close UMS(Quit) then my pc will go to sleeping mode as schedule.

Thanks!

Hi Mik_s

I was looking at the fix for 14.5.0, could it be that this fix https://github.com/UniversalMediaServer ... ssues/4887 will resold the problem?

Thanks!

It might have been a factor if the video you were watching was being streamed.
As UMS prevents sleep when a video is playing, if it is never marked as stopped then it will not free up Windows to allow it to go to sleep either.

This fix is in 14.5 which is currently only available to Patreon but should be public soon.

Let me know when you get it if this fixes it for you, if not then I'll create an issue on Github for the devs to look into.
