transcoding online source

Post by dubak »

Hi,
is it possible to transcode an online video source with UMS? What I want to do is to use UMS for transcoding the video from my Dreambox satelite receiver on demand.
I can stream the video from the dreambox just by using the following link e.g. in VLC:

http://dm7025:8001/1:0:1:1F43:BC6:3:EB0000:0:0:0:

Is it possible to add such a source into UMS and let UMS do the transcodig?

Yes it should be possible. Channels plugin (and other plugins) streams various online data. It should be possible. Start by trying adding the url to the WEB.conf file.
We reject: kings, presidents and voting.
We believe in: rough consensus and running code.
