Mencoder transcoding fails after about 30 sec

I am having a problem getting UMS to stream to a DirectTV HR34. No problems with most files, but I ripped a BluRay M2TS file which will not properly stream.
The DirectTV box will not play the M2TS file, so it must be transcoded. It does fine for about 30 seconds, then fails.
Debug files are attached, but the key failure seems to be:
DEBUG 2014-05-19 15:16:10.604 [mencoder.exe-27-2] File not found: 'autoaspect=1:threads=4:keyint=25:vqmax=7:vqmin=2:vrc_maxrate=9000:vrc_buf_size=3333'

DEBUG 2014-05-19 15:16:10.604 [mencoder.exe-27-2] Failed to open autoaspect=1:threads=4:keyint=25:vqmax=7:vqmin=2:vrc_maxrate=9000:vrc_buf_size=3333.
I don't know what is causing that.
Anyone have any ideas?
