More subtitle problems
Hello, I'm having an issue with external subs on a Samsung PN60F5500 with UMS 4.1.1. They used to work fine a couple of releases ago. The files come up marked as having external subtitles; however, when playing the files, the subtitle menu on the Samsung's interface disappears as if it doesn't recognize that subtitles are with the file. I tried multiple file formats, none of them seem to work. Thank you for the help.

Re: More subtitle problems
Hi moogpaul,
I hope we have fixed it in our upcoming release of 4.1.2. It should be released soon and please let us know if it's still an issue in that version. Thanks

Re: More subtitle problems
Hi.
I having the same issues with my Samsung F5500. I currently using v4.0.0 since it's the only version working for me.
Version 4.0.3 worked with subtitles, but was very sluggish ("loading" appeared on the TV all time during playback). I have
tried all posterior versions (including 4.1.2) without success. I also tried to "borrow" the renderer config
file from 4.0.0 and use it with a newer version but that didn't worked.
If there's any information that I can provide or if you need that I run a beta, perform some tests, etc, I would glad to do.

Update:
Since I'm running UMS on a MAC, I decided to give a try under Windows 7 (using BootCamp).
I think this information would be useful: version 4.1.2 (java 7) is working perfectly fine
with the same setup that doesn't work on MAC.
I also decided to try other java versions under MAC:
4.1.2 java 6 is working
4.1.2 java 7 isn't working
4.1.2 java 8 isn't working
I hadn't luck before because I always used the java 8 version. However:
After closing UMS I noted that the computer wouldn't respond anymore. I found that
ffmpeg is running wild. I'm attaching 2 screenshots. Please note than in the 35 seconds
between them, the memory usage has grown form 1.72Gb to 2.46Gb. This is happen
with UMS closed (it doesn't appear in the activity monitor) and all java variants.
The memory usage continued to grow (over 3Gb) until I killed the process...
I'm running Yosemite DP8 and java 8 update 20.

Re: More subtitle problems
Upgraded to 4.1.2 Java 7. Same issue. I have noticed that files with built in subtitles work fine. The subtitle option appears on my tv and I'm able to turn them on and off so I guess this problem only occurs on external subs.
