Video freezes, audio keeps playing
I am having issues with a particular set of MKV files. Following some stuttering while playing them I upgraded to 5.0.0 only to find a number of Unsupported data entries in my folders (though all the files were listed and thumbnailed). Upon trying to play one of the problem MKVs I would get a second of video, after which time it would freeze while the audio continued to play.
I downloaded the Java 8 version of UMS 5.0.0 instead and chose the clean install option, then updated the config and tried again. Same issue. Then I tried moving MEncoder ahead of FFmpeg in the video engines list, but the problem is the same. I then did a trace log with this final setup.
if I quit the video and then relaunch it, it starts a little further into the file and the same problem occurs, a second of video with the audio continuing to play fine. I can also fast forward through the file and the problem will then occur wherever I stop.
The file works fine on the streaming PC when played through MPC-HC.
This is on a Windows 8.1 64-bit system streaming to a Playstation 3. Logs attached per the sticky.

Re: Video freezes, audio keeps playing
I have no problems processing .mkv on Windows 8.1 64bit streaming to gbit wired PS3 using FFMPEG and Java 8 (although still using Java 7 of UMS). I looked through your logs and saw you are still loading AVISynth. I uninstalled this a long time ago and just use FFMPEG. I suggest you uninstall UMS, uninstall AVIsynth, delete the UMS directory in Program files (x86), do a fresh install of UMS .. I also check all flags on the audio transcode settings -
use LPCM,
keep ac-3,
keep dts.,
encoded pass through for ac-3 and DTS,
ac-3 re encoding audio bit rate 640.

Re: Video freezes, audio keeps playing
So I tried following these steps but encountered the same issue as before. Also, enabling LPCM causes the video's sound to be played in a chipmunk voice. One of the earlier videos in the series works fine and doesn't get the chipmunk voice, so I'm assuming it's something particular to the way these files were encoded.
I've found that PS3 Media Server 1.90.1 can play the file without any problems using as close to an identical config as it allows (without changing anything about rendering engines beyond the general video/audio/subtitle settings)
Interested to understand why you recommend removing AVISynth (I did, but just wondering).
