A couple qustions about live subtitles

Hi, I love your work. I was curious about the new live subtitles feature:
First, I tend to believe in transcoding first and encoding second. I'm no expert on this so hang with me here. Does the new live subtitles feature require encoding like mencoder does?
Second, When i tested it out, mind you i was just quickly testing it out, the subs were not in time at all. Is there something in UMS I failed to set that would've fixed that?
Thanks

forget the 2nd thing, everything seems fine now.
Still wondering if there's encoding or transcoding going on. Just curious.
Thanks

The subtitles behave just as external subtitles does. Either mencoder/ffmpeg is used to add them to the stream but if the video stream is transcoded or not is based on the video format.

thanks sharkhunter.
Just want to make sure I do get this straight. If the mkv file is able to be remuxed by tsmuxer (no transcoding), live subtitles wont transcode with the video stream?
Sorry if its a dumb question, still learning all the terminology and functions.
thanks

I woundt call it functionality.. rather lack of same, or even buggy.
Subtitles since 2.2.0 just needs to be fixed, end of story. Sorry, this issue is getting old.

AFAIK whatever you select in the Live Subtitles folder will always play
