Chapters/pause-resume issues
Hi,
Long-time user of UMS here hoping for a little bit of help after running into troubles with my Panasonic DX750.
The problem happens when either pausing and then resuming, or selecting a chapter from the #Transcode menu. For the attached debug files I tested to load a chapter at 10:00 for both Mencoder and FFmpeg - the result is the same: out-of-sync audio (not sure if the same goes for the embedded SRT-subtitles, but hard to tell when the audio is not synced).
I suspect that the problem might be on the renderer end (the TV uses Firefox OS) or has something to do with the renderer config file, but I am a bit flustered to how this works.
Notes:
- I first thought I fixed the problem after reading another user's post (about using ffmpeg + disable "defer to mencoder"), but it only seemed to work once and the problem has since returned for all MKV files I stream).
- I did post the trace debug in the renderer thread - and have since updated to the latest version (6.4.0), but the issue still prevails.

Re: Chapters/pause-resume issues
hi i know its not much maybe you should try the 6.4.1 snapshot build that subjunk posted on the topic Playstation 4 stopping vídeo by a guy name fliedel if you scroll down the page you're going to find the exe to download and install if this pre version Works better for you and you can contact him to let him know about it.
you can also try to reinstall the same version to its clean state maybe it will also Works sometimes messing with configurations can cause collateral damage to the playback.

Re: Chapters/pause-resume issues
Forgot to mention I did try a clean install of 6.4.0 - I have also tested some older 6.3.x versions. Tested the 6.4.1 snapshop just now - unfortunately it has the same issues.

Re: Chapters/pause-resume issues
hi i think de best thing you can do until you find a solution to the problem is going back to a previous version where it works fine and also you can try send a private message to the developers to see if one of them can find an answer or wait until one of them post to you here on this topic. Always make sure that you have the lastest java avaliable, check if your tv is properly conected to the modem or router, if there is an sound delay options on the tv check if its correct or other option that can interfere on sound streaming. sometimes bugs can also occur on the tv side of things make sure that the settings are ok on mistake can cause this type of problems on streaming data, and you can also verify if there are options on the ums that must be on or off in order to work correctly to your specific wifi or wired connection and the tv model itself. i'm saying this because many things can be causing the trouble that you are having now a complete check up can solve the problem.

Re: Chapters/pause-resume issues
You have some very good pointers, but I'm not certain they are relevant to my case. The reason being is that Panasonic DX750 is a very new TV on the market - no more than 3-4 months old here in Europe at least. That's why older verions of UMS is not relevant for me (AFAIK), because the first version I tested on this TV was 6.3.0 as far as I can remember. But I guess I could be wrong about this, maybe an older version will do the trick - I will have to test this when I have the time for it again.
Note that streaming from start to end is not an issue (that works perfectly - so it's likely not a network issue), only these specific cases that I mentioned, ie.: if I have to take a break (using pause and later resume) or want to jump into a specific chapter, the aforementioned issue happens.
I'm hoping a dev can chime in and take a look at the logs, because this is way beyond my understanding of how this works

Re: Chapters/pause-resume issues
ums is a software that Works in multiple devices they Always update from time to time this is problably could be a compatiblity issue with your specific model maybe in a future version this will be fixed because they update playback compatibility to brands and models and also to work better in the other devices as well like consoles.
each tv Works in a different way they have each an individual operation system and a variable types of processors and there is also have the firmware update that fixes bugs and add new functions the tv itself by the manufacturer.

Re: Chapters/pause-resume issues
Hi there,
Long time user, first time poster.
I have exactly the same problem. Started about a month or 2 ago.
Plays through fine but if I forward or rewind it goes out of sync.
I don't have mad av skills, kinda just stumbling through it all.
Here is what I know so far:
1) Only happens on mkv files.
2) Only happens when I forward or rewind the show.
3) Does not happen when I go to transcode and run it with FFmpeg {Audio: AAC}
4) I suspect it started when I tried to install a codec (Xvid 1.3.2) for 448 CBR AC-3 5.1 audio as indicated my Media Info.
Things I have tried:
1) Install Latest/clean UMS (Current 6.5.1)
2) Did some research and tried various settings (cannot remember them all
)
3) Disable "Keep AC-3 tracks"
4) Disabled Defer to mencoder
Will keep searching but this is what I have so far.
Can anyone help?
