UMS not finding my Samsung smart TV anymore

The model number of the TV is UN46EH5300FXZA. I used to be able to stream movies and anime off the TV but after updating both my UMS to 5.5 (for Java 8) and my Java to the most recent version of 8, I am unable to locate Universal Media server as I used to. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Try to turn off any firewalls, and if that doesn't help please follow the instructions in the red text above.

I use AVG Internet Security and haven't added any but I'll double check and let you know.

UMS finds you renderer, to that's not the problem:

You should try disabling AVG Internet Security completely and see if that helps. The problem isn't that UMS doesn't see your TV in any case, what you mean is that the TV doesn't see UMS?

What used to happen was I turn on the tv and go to samsung link on the smart hub like so.

I then went to videos and saw three out of four options being displayed. Universal Media server at the top and my laptop via windows media player just below it, followed by USB device and sugarsync.

Now, UMS no longer appears. I've tried disabling AVG to no avail. Allowing all instances to run via the .exe file hasn't helped either.

What about Windows firewall? Have you tried turning that off?

I've never needed to do either deactivation before (AVG or Windows) when using the older versions, but I'll give it a try.

Then I have no idea, from the UMS side everything seems fine as far as I can see.

There's one thing I wondered about when reading the log, it seems UMS suddenly lost connection to the TV a while after finding it. Did you turn off the TV or disconnect the network while UMS was "capturing" log? If not, that might be something.
