2 nic's ?

Post by emerson8 »

Quick one;

While using 2 nics and choosing which one to use, well, that's sorted so that I can make sure
to ONLY bind it towards one network.

But, is it possible to make UMS to service 2 networks at the same time over 2 different nics ?

Haven't found how to if that is possible. Specifying which IP, etc, yes, but not this "opposite" need.

Thanks,

Hi I think you should take a look at the FAQ:

Thanks...

Im actually doing that part allready, got 2 different UMS servicing "full" and "kids-only" on different ports/UID, etc through the CONF option.

More wondering whether one single instance of UMS could be active/seen on both NIC's at once,
otherwise, my setup would end up being 4 instances !!...

THanks again,

Well I'm not the expert developer here, but I have the impression that one instance of UMS can only listen on one NIC.
Maybe one of the experts could give their opinion?

Well i'm no expert but i've never had one instance of UMS working on 2 nic's at once. You can use two separate instances of UMS but you may run into other problems by doing that.
