I want to setup UMS this way:
if the language is japanese, use italian subtitles; if italian isn't available, anything else will do
if the audio is in english, try with english subtitles first, then ita, then everything else

Lightningcloud, the setting has to be put on whilst UMS is put into "Run this program as Administrator" mode. It only needs to be done once when you enable the setting.

I noticed that for the last few days UMS didn't start on boot, but I thought it was just a problem with che configuration: in fact I found the "start with Windows" unchecked. Then I checked it, rebooted and... UMS didn't start, again. I found this error in the log

Note that MKV is just a file container and has nothing to do with the actual video/audio format. Sumsung supports MKV just fine, but doesn't support some of the older divx/mp4 encoding formats. Have you tried cleaning up your java installation? Using the official uninstall and JavaRA. I had a strange problem with UMS being unable to work without administrator's right and turned up the Java updater had messed up something.
